Since 1860
Hacienda & Beneficio La Eva was founded in 1860 by Remigio Quirós in the heart of Sarchí, Costa Rica. Originally a livestock farm, the land soon became one of the most important coffee production centers in the region, sparking the development of the entire West Valley.
In 1900, it became home to Costa Rica's second hydroelectric plant, powering the hacienda and the town of Sarchí. Four years later, the famous decorated ox carts of Costa Rica were first manufactured here, making La Eva the cradle of this national treasure.
Today, under the Zanetti family, La Eva collaborates with over 2,900 micro-producers across 6 coffee-growing regions, maintains 275 hectares of shade-grown coffee, and protects a 90-hectare tropical cloud forest reserve, where sustainability is not a promise, but a reality.
